Donald Trump Shot At Rally In Pennsylvania – Secret Service Rushes Him Off The Stage As Bullet Hits His Ear
The former president is expected to survive, according to two law enforcement officials, and he raised his fist to the audience as authorities led him into a car. Former President Donald Trump was escorted from the stage barely minutes into his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, after loud gunshot-like noises were reported.
Two top law enforcement officers informed on the situation believe Trump will survive. He had blood on the side of his head and around his ear.
Trump was speaking as he reached for the side of his face as popping sounds echoed around the audience. He then crouched down as Secret Service operatives rushed onstage and surrounded him. He was promptly put into a van and walked off the stage surrounded by agents.
The US Secret Service stated that Trump is now “safe” and that precautionary precautions have been put around the former president. It also stated that an investigation had been initiated, but provided no further specifics. “This is now an active Secret Service investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available,” Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated in a post on X.
Trump’s campaign claimed he was “fine” after the event. “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement. “He is well and being examined at a local medical centre. More information will follow.” The White House stated that President Joe Biden had received a “initial briefing” on the incident.
