Dozens Dead In An Attack On Moscow Concert Venue – Russian Reports Says

According to Russian reports, dozens have been reported dead in an attack on Moscow concert venue earlier today. According to the reports, at least 40 people have died.
Per the Russian reports, 100 people are severely injured due to the attack on the capital. These injuries and deaths were as a result when gunmen opened fire on them during the concert.
The shooting from the unknown gunmen caught fire, which set the venue ablaze. According to the Ria State News Agency, four men were dressed and forcefully entered the said Crocus City Hall, which is the venue for the concert.
According to the Russian reports, this is the largest loss of lives as a result from a terrorist attack in Russia.
Russia’s main security service, FSB, disclosed that 40 people were killed and more than 100 people have been injured as a result of the terrorist attack. They added that effective measures are being taken as at now.
According to reports and footages seen on Telegram, GlobalCurrent24.com spotted the scenes where several people at the concert were being shot at. Also, news from some top-notch telegram channels suggests that the death rate were higher than the 40 disclosed by the Russian authority. Russian officials described this act as terrorism.
The speaker of Russia’s senate, Valentina Matvienko, disclosed that these gunmen or attackers will get the punishment they deserve.
In a statement released by the Mayor of Russia, Sergei Sobyanin read that, “A horrible tragedy happened today in Crocus City, Moscow. My condolences to the loved ones of all the victim”.
Due to this terrifying incident, people evacuated from malls and supermarkets and large crowds to their homes over fear of another attack. The governor of Moscow, Andrei Vorobyov, arrived at the scene quickly upon hearing, which he set up a quick response team and over 70 ambulances were available.
In the 1990s and 2000s were the maiden terror attacks that happened in Russia and not to forget, the two disheartening wars that occurred in the Chechnya. These said incidents made a name for rise, which they rose to high power afterwards.
The attack on the capital, today, will bring back painful and hurtful memories for some Moscow residents. Major attacks in Russia minimised when President Putin got rid of Islamist insurgencies. Aside today’s terrorist attack in Moscow, the recent one that happened was in 2017 in St Petersburg which resulted to the death of 15 people.
The United States embassy in Moscow and 6 other global north countries released alerts during the first week of this month about possible attacks on public events, with concerts inclusive. On Tuesday, President Putin tagged these warnings from theses global north countries as “provocative statements”.
The attackers of Friday’s incident started firing and later threw explosives in the crowd, which led to the fire in the building. The sad scenes that emerged saw some being shot and lay prostrate on the floor, while others run for their lives.
