East Legon Accident: Bishop Amoako Salifu And Wife Arrested After Son Killed Two People With Overspeeding
The Founder and Leader of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Amoako Salifu, and Wife Arrested And Detained By The Ghana Police For Their Son’s Overspeeding That Lead To The East Legon Accident.
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has released an official statement upon the arrest of Bishop Amoako Salifu and his wife after their son was involved in the East Legon accident which happened last Saturday. The horrific accident resulted in the death of two innocent lives.
As we reported earlier regarding this accident that happened over the weekend, the accident happened between a Jaguar car and a Honda Acura saloon. The Jaguar was white, whereas the Honda was black. The Bishop’s son who is a 16-year-old suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The two people who were killed in the accident have been identified as Maame Dwomoh and Justine Agbenu. Both of them were 12 years of age. As of now, Bishop Salifu and his wife, Mouha Amoako in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Part of the statement released by the Ghana Police Service read:
- The Ghana Police Service has today 15th October 2024, arrested suspects, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, parents of the suspect driver involved in the fatal accident that claimed two lives at East Legon on Saturday, 12th October 2024.
- Investigations have so far established that on 12th October 2024, the suspect driver, Elrad Salifu Amoako, aged 16, driving a Jaguar SUV vehicle with registration number GN 7801 – 20 with one other occupant. He rammed into a 4×4 Acura vehicle also with registration number GR 2542 – 23, driven by Joseph Ackah with four other occupants, at Mensah Wood Street at East Legon. Both cars caught fire and burned beyond recognition.
- The investigation further indicates that three of the five victims in the Acura vehicle during the accident were rescued, and the other two, identified as Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, both 12 years of age, lost their lives. Two of the rescued victims who sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged, while the third is still on admission receiving medical attention.
- The suspect driver with the other occupant in the Juaguar vehicle were also rescued and are currently on admission at the hospital.
- The parents of the 16-year-old suspect driver, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, are currently in custody assisting the investigation.
