The National Sports Authority (NSA) Has Issued A Statement Ahead Of The Ghana vs Sudan Game At The Accra Sports Stadium. The Statement Released By The NSA Was In Regard To Potential Protests That Might Happen At The Stadium.
Ahead of the Ghana vs Sudan game on Thursday 10th October 2024, the National Sports Authority has released a stern warning to Ghanaian fans who will be in attendance not to stage a protest or else, they face arrest.
Per the statement released by the Sports Authority, the intelligence they picked suggests individuals who are protesting against illegal mining (galamsey) in the country intend to use the Ghana vs Sudan game to protest against the government. In the statement released by the National Sports Authority (NSA), security would apprehend anyone who stages a protest during the match.
“It has come to the attention of the Authority that some individuals intend to use the game between the Black Stars of Ghana and their Sudanese counterparts as a platform to promote an agenda that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) frowns upon,” the press statement reads.
“Any individual or group of persons who openly display any political or pressure group paraphernalia, apparel, or placards at the Accra Sports Stadium will be apprehended by the security apparatus who will be deployed in and around the facility,” the statement continues.
“In this regard, football fans are advised to adhere to all the match day security regulations before, during and after the game in order to avoid any form of arrest or sanctions”, final part of the statement read.

The Ghana vs Sudan AFCON qualifiers game is expected to begin at 4pm GMT at the Accra Sports stadium. Confirmed lineups for the game set to be released soon as the Black Stars are poised to grab a win at home before they head to Sudan for a reverse fixture in four days.
