Nigeria Increases Passport Processing Fees To ₦100k, According To An Official Statement Released By The Nigerian Immigration Service. This Increment Was Announced In An Official Communiqué, As Seen Online.
The Federal Government of Nigeria(FG), through the Nigeria Immigration Service, has, as of today, increased the passport processing fees to ₦100k. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has increased the Nigerian Passport processing fees to ₦100k. The new prices will be effective on the 1st of September 2024. For the new prices, the 100 thousand Naira will be for 64-page passport booklet which will be valid for only 10 years.
The Spokesman of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), DCI Kenneth Udo disclosed in a statement on Wednesday 21st of August 2024 about the increment of the passport processing fees. According to him, the Federal Government of Nigeria approved the upward review. This was part of its effort to maintain the integrity and quality of the Nigerian Passport. The new price will be effective from September 1st 2024 for a 64-page passport book only.
“Based on the review, a 32-page Passport booklet with 5-year validity previously charged at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (₦35,000.00) will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000.00) only; while a 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity which was Seventy Thousand Naira (₦70,000.00) will be One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000.00) only. However, the fees remain unchanged in Diaspora,” part of the statement said.
The Nigeria Immigration Service disclosed their sincerest regrets to all Nigerian citizens for any inconveniences this increment might have caused. They also assured them of quality and proper service at all times.

“As part of its efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, the Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the Passport effective from 1st September 2024.
