Singer Mandisa’s Passing: Tributes Pours From Loved Ones
Tributes have been shared from fans and loved ones all over the world after singer Mandisa’s death was announced.
Social media has been used by the Christian and gospel communities, as well as by past and current American Idol contestants, to pay tribute to singer-songwriter Mandisa.
On Thursday, April 18, the 47-year-old passed away in her Nashville residence.
Another former American Idol competitor, Danny Gokey, expressed his shock at learning of Mandisa’s untimely passing.

“I will always cherish the memories of times we spent together hosting award shows, going on tour, and most of all helping her tell her story in the songwriting room,” said West in a post on X. “The first song she released after appearing on American Idol Was a song we wrote called “Only the World” and the lyrics hit different right now.”

“@mandisaofficial is one of the most kind, caring, funny, encouraging and gentle people I have known. I didn’t believe the news was true when I heard it this morning. Thank you for caring about me, for smiling at me that day on the airplane on the way to a radio summit, and for your beautiful pursuit of Jesus. Rest well friend”.
Additionally, Mandisa’s management confirmed the talented artist’s passing on social media.
Her management posted on Facebook, saying, “We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this extremely difficult time.” “Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world.”
As of right now, her cause of death is still unknown.
