Supacell Season 2 Release Date – Creator Breaks Silence
Supacell Season 2 Release Date – Creator, Rapman Reveals An Intriguing Update About The New ‘Buzzer’ In Town.
Netflix’s new show Supacell is the latest addition to the ever-intriguing world of sci-fi on OTT.
Rapman, a rapper and filmmaker also known as Andrew Onwubolu, created the six-episode series, which premiered on June 27, 2024. It tells the story of five Black South Londoners who unexpectedly develop abilities and utilize them to save a girl’s life.
Supacell has already been a fan favourite, delving into grim issues such as knife crime, ethnic profiling, and sickle cell sickness (a blood ailment that affects millions of people in England).
Supacell, a Netflix show, depicts the lives of five Black South Londoners who obtain superpowers.
“A group of ordinary people from South London unexpectedly develop superpowers with no clear connection between them other than them all being Black,” the title of the story states.
“As they deal with the impact on their daily lives, one man has to bring them together to protect the one he loves — all while avoiding the powerful and nefarious agents that have noticed their special abilities.”
Will There Be A Season 2 For Supacell?
In brief, no. The first series of the Netflix show premiered on the streaming platform on June 27th, 2024, and while it quickly rose to the top of their most-streamed TV shows, it has yet to be renewed for additional episodes.
Rapman’s Comment Regarding The Release Of Season 2
Rapman, the show’s creator and director, told Unilad that he had ideas for three seasons of Supacell, but it all depended on season one’s performance.
“I’ve told Netflix loads of times that I’ve got plans for multiple seasons,” said the actor. “But, you know, they’re going to see how it goes, and hopefully we’ll get the following season.
“I told them I had a three-season story in my head. So, while I’m not saying it will never happen, I have three stories, these three seasons, in my head that I know where the story is going. So I’m hoping it comes out, performs well, and we can move on to the second half.”
