East Legon accident victims were two 12-year-old girls of Cornerstone International – Police

Following the tragic accident in East Legon that claimed two lives, the Ghana Police Service has officially disclosed in a press release that the two persons who lost their lives were both 12 years old.
It has been alleged that the driver of the vehicle was a 16-year-old minor and son of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako of Alive Chapel International.
The two girls who lost their lives were in another vehicle, a Honda Acura with registration number GR 2542-223 Honda Acura with registration number GR 2542-223 with three other occupants. It was hit by the white Jaguar vehicle with registration GN 7801-20, driven by the 16-year-old boy.
According to the police details, Mr. Joseph Ackah was the driver of the Honda Acura vehicle that the two 12-year-olds were in.
The driver, Joseph Ackah, and the two others survived the accident, but the two girls were burnt beyond recognition.
This was because the impact of the accident forced the vehicles to hit a wooden electric pole, which caused the wires to drop on the vehicle and sparked fire.
The two girls have been identified as students of Cornerstone International. Following the tragic accident, the school declared an early midterm break following the horrific accident.
Cornerstone International Academy has announced the passing of two of its students in the recent accident at East Legon, which involved the collision of two cars.
The school disclosed that two other students are receiving treatment at the hospital.
The collision resulted in the spark of a fire, which led to two vehicles burning beyond recognition and the death of two persons, leaving three others injured.
In a statement, the school announced the loss of its pupils due to the accident. As part of efforts to grieve with the bereaved families, Cornerstone International Academy announced a break in academic activities beginning October 15, 2024.
The school has since proceeded for a midterm break and will resume on October 21, 2024.
“As we mourn the loss of our beloved students, our thoughts and prayers remain with the affected families. In this difficult time, we have decided to close school early for the midterm break, effective tomorrow, October 15, 2024,” excerpts of the statement read.
The police have, however, arrested Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and his son’s mother.
Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako of Alive Chapel International and the mother of his son, Mouha Amoako, were on Tuesday arrested by the police for their son’s involvement in the East Legon accident.
Their son, a 16-year-old, who was driving the white Jaguar, rammed the Honda Acura at East Legon and killed the two girls on the spot.
Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako are currently assisting in the police investigation.
