Playing Career (Antonio Pierce)
In 2001, Antonio Pierce signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Redskins. He started eight of the 16 games he participated in as a rookie. In his first season, he had 52 tackles, one sack, and one interception. Pierce participated in 18 and 15 tackles in the 2002 and 2003 seasons, respectively, throughout the next two seasons. On March 3, 2005, Pierce signed a contract with the New York Giants to start at middle linebacker. Pierce took on the role of defense captain and finished 13 games with 100 tackles, 80 of which came from solo efforts, two interceptions, and one forced fumble that was recovered for a touchdown.

Antonio suffered a leg injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005, which caused him to miss the remaining three games of the regular season. As a result, his season ended early.
