1 dead, 11 injured in New Orleans mass shooting in City’s warehouse district which happened overnight according to the authorities.
A mass shooting near New Orleans late Sunday night left one person dead and 11 others injured, according to officials.
A New Orleans Police Department official told USA TODAY that the incident occurred shortly before midnight in the city’s Warehouse District, which is several blocks from the Mississippi River waterfront.
The first call reporting the incident arrived at 11:56 p.m., according to the spokeswoman.
Arriving first responders carried numerous people to area hospitals, with one person being pronounced dead on the spot, according to authorities.
According to WVUE-TV, five men and six women were hurt, and some of them were transported to hospitals in private automobiles.
The motive for the Warehouse District shooting was not immediately known. Police did not indicate if any arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
The motivation for the attack was not immediately revealed. The shooting took happened yesterday night during the French Quarter Festival.
The incident occurred on the final night of the French Quarter event, a free four-day music event held in early April in the city’s historic French Quarter.
The festival is just over a mile and a half from where the incident occurred. The case was still under investigation on Monday morning.
