April 8th, 2024, numerous of the North American countries will have a chance to experience the total solar eclipse. According to NASA, most of the North American people will experience the moon obscuring the sun on April 8th. National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA has sent out invites to the public who are interested to partake with the face to face events, and numerous ways to watch the solar total eclipse.
Millions across the globe will be waiting to experience this once in a lifetime event. The path of totality, the Niagara region in Canada which is along the boarders of US and Canada is a major place to experience this total solar eclipse. Millions of people including tourists will be aiming to experience this event from the path of totality, whereas they’ll see the moon cover the sun entirely, hence, resulting in darkness.
Not all parts of the world will experience a total solar eclipse on April 8th. Outside the Niagara region, the path of totality, the contiguous states of US, which is the 49 states will experience partial solar eclipse.
On April 8th, NASA will broadcast the eclipse live at 1 p.m EDT. The live broadcasts will be from North America and some of its contingents. The live broadcast from NASA will last 3 hours across some locations. NASA has an agency at the path of totality in the Niagara, NASA’s Glenn Research Centres, Ohio. There are several agencies of NASA in the Northern part of America and they include; Dallas, Indianapolis, Russellville, Arkansas, Carbondale, Illinois, Niagara Falls, New York, Houlton, Maine, and Kerrville, Texas.

Interestingly, on the date of the event, NASA will be hosting a Spanish watch party around 1:30 pm which will stream live on YouTube. With the live broadcast of the eclipse from NASA, there will be no commentary during the streaming, hence only footages will be seen from NASA’s media channels. The broadcast will last for three hours which starts from 1 pm to 4pm.
NASA will also include a live telescope streaming which will be from several locations, and this may be based on the weather from these locations. Some of the locations which NASA will be broadcasting their telescope feed from are; Cleveland, Indianapolis, Torreón, Mexico, Dallas, Niagara Falls, New York, Junction, Texas, Tupper Lake, New York, Houlton, Maine, Russellville, Arkansas, Kerrville, Texas, Carbondale, Illinois, and Mazatlán, Mexico.
Although most of NASA’s livestream will be without commentary, the live stream in Virginia from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility will run a commentary during the live stream of three different sounds. The livestream in Virginia will begin at 2:30 pm live on the YouTube channel of NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. The Eclipse Explorer Map from NASA allows users to track the total solar eclipse happening on April 8th. Users can track the eclipse as it moves across North America.
