According to police report, the voice of France star, Kendji Girac seriously hurt after shooting in Bordeaux.
After being shot in the chest, the winner of the French version of The Voice is in critical condition.
Kendji Girac’s life is no longer deemed dangerous, according to the authorities. About 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Bordeaux, at a traveler site in Biscarrosse, police were called at 05:30 local time (04:30 GMT).
According to French media, he blamed his own carelessness with the gun for the incident during his first conversations with investigators.
After the shooting, he was taken to a hospital in Bordeaux.
The AFP news agency was informed by an insider close to the investigation that police had not ruled anything out.
The stage name of 27-year-old Kendji Maille, who was raised in the Catalan Gypsy community, is Kendji Girac. He had spent a few days in Biscarosse. According to the AFP news agency, the shooting happened close to a traveler community camp’s reception area.
When Did Kenji Girac Rise To Fame?
2013 saw Kendji Girac’s initial rise to fame when he covered a Gims song, a Congolese-French rapper. He won The Voice France the following year. The most recent of his five studio albums, L’École de la Vie (The School of Life), was released in 2022.
On YouTube, his songs Color Gitano and Andalouse have received hundreds of millions of views.
The French Gypsy community is home to about 500,000 people. The southwest region of the nation, where Mr. Girac was raised, is home to many people. Several of Mr. Girac’s songs are in Spanish, and he shares Spanish ancestry with many other French Gypsies.
However, Mr. Girac’s fame goes far beyond his neighborhood. His good looks, clean-cut image, and contemporary Gypsy and rumba pop music have made him a “poster boy” for the French Gypsy community.
French TV host Cyril Hanouna expressed shock at the news, saying, “We are all shocked.” We adore him; he is a wonderful man who is incredibly kind, cheerful, and always willing to assist.”
