1,200 Rescuers Search For Missing 6-year-old In Germany
International News On The Missing 6-Year-Old – 1,200 Rescuers Search For Missing 6-year-old In Germany
Police, military, firefighters, and volunteers are all involved in the hunt for a missing youngster in northern Germany. The boy was seen leaving his house over a week ago.
A large-scale search for a missing 6-year-old with autism resumed on Sunday near the northern German town of Bremervörde, west of Hamburg.
Approximately 1,200 people have been searching for the youngster, including police, soldiers, firemen, members of the THW civil protection organization, and volunteers.
The youngster, named Arian, was last seen on Monday evening. A surveillance camera saw the child leaving his parents’ home in Elm and running into a neighboring woodland alone.
He was last spotted wearing an orange long-sleeved sweatshirt, black dragon-print sweatpants, and socks.
Arian has autism and, according to authorities, is unable to communicate himself or reply when talked to.
Authorities used boats, drones, and sniffer dogs, while search and rescue crews combed ditches and pipes.
“The large number of forces” deployed on Sunday “shows that we still have hope,” a police official told the German press agency DPA.
Investigators said there is no evidence of foul play in Arian’s disappearance, and the search will continue on Monday.
The search zone, which had previously been limited to the region surrounding Elm, was expanded on Sunday to cover more isolated places.
As part of the effort, a 1.5-kilometer (almost one-mile) wide human chain was formed and moved from north to south towards Elm.
According to police, footprints that may have belonged to Arian have been discovered in the search area on many occasions in recent days.
Soldiers have also been using night vision goggles, while police divers have been combing the adjacent Oste river.
