American troops near Chinese city of Xiamen: Will China take over Taiwan by 2027?

American troops are already a few kilometres from the Chinese city of Xiamen, according to The Telegraph.

Information coming in indicates that the US Army has already stationed some troops not far from the Chinese city of Xiamen. Taiwan inadvertently released the military intelligence.

Taiwan currently controls the island of Jinmen, also known as Kinmen, and the US will directly oppose China’s future invasion of Taiwan.

According to a tweet by @Sprinterfactory, China is building its military and nuclear arsenal in unprecedented ways since the deadly World War II, and it is likely to conquer Taiwan by 2027.

@Sprinterfactory further clarified that China was indirectly preparing to take over Taiwan. This projected action by China is in line with views expressed about the issue by the US Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral John Aquilino, which was also quoted by Bloomberg.

US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral John Aquilino did indicate that China’s defence budget has skyrocketed, although the country is faced with serious economic problems.

The Chinese defence budget was increased to $223 billion, which was 16% more than its previous budget. The Chinese army has also resupplied its aircraft with an additional 400 new fighter aircraft and 20 new large warships, while it has further doubled its reserves of cruise and ballistic missiles.

“All signs indicate that the Chinese army is complying with the directive of Chinese leader Xi Jinping to be prepared to invade Taiwan by 2027,” the admiral said while speaking on the issue.

He added that military intelligence shows that the Chinese military has already commenced different tasks and operations against the very existence of Taiwan. They have initiated naval and air blockades.

According to a Bloomberg publication on the issue, China is extra careful not to engage in any military conflict around Taiwan, no matter its intentions to control the island.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers has indicated that the investments China is making in the area of defence are yielding results for them since they now have what it takes to send power to the Pacific Ocean using a fleet of 340 ships, a new aircraft carrier, and nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines.

“China’s unprecedented level of defence spending is paying off. The Chinese military uses advanced systems such as hypersonic weapons and fifth-generation fighter jets. They can send power to the Pacific Ocean with a fleet of 340 ships, including a new aircraft carrier and nuclear-powered ballistic missile submariness,” said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers.

Clearly, each bloc in the attempt to capture or free Taiwan is working hard to win the struggle; however, the implications of military confrontations within Taiwan will have serious consequences for global peace and security.
